Ok I live in northern Kentucky and I found this little guy while ago. My quick google research has led me to believe that it's a gray tree frog. What do you guys think? I wanted to make sure he/she wasn't poisoinous or anything.
It looks like a healthy Gray Tree Frog.
Yep, it's either an eastern gray treefrog, Hyla versicolor, or a Cope's gray treefrog, Hyla chrysoscelis. According to the maps at AmphibiaWeb, the Cope's version is more widespread in KY, but near areas where there's overlap the maps aren't totally to be trusted.
Either way, it's not poisonous. It will likely pee/secrete a (supposedly) foul tasting liquid when handled or scared. Probably not a good idea to rub this in your eyes if it happens, but that should go without saying.
Hey thanks for the quick reply guys. I'm going to get started on a home for the little guy.
