Default Mixing Dart frogs in the same tank.........

    ........but not how your thinking[emoji6]

Could you theoretically "split" a tank down the middle making a Duel Dart vivarium?

If you mount a piece of glass down the center and cover both sides with foam, cork tiles, tree fern panels etc. The frogs would be separate and out of sight from each other. This should work right?

Turn a 29 gallon tank into two 14 gallon vivarium, have an imitator/vent vivarium. Maybe turn a 55 gallon into a tinc/thumbnail tank, or leucs one side and azures on the other.

    Any thoughts?

I just recently bought out a frog room where this was done to one of the tanks. It probably worked well for some time, but the second day I had the set up, I found the frogs mixed. Of course that had to go and they all got new tanks. The key is keeping the security in place over the long term. Things tend to break down in a high humidity environment, like silicone and other adhesives.

Interesting. Was it just a piece of glass or acrylic separating the tank? There would have to be a fairly large failure in the divider if the frogs mixed, and probably take years to break down.

BTW , I'm going to start all my posts from now on titled

It was a piece of acrylic as a separator. This also was a front opening tank, which made it more difficult. It was in that configuration for about 7 months.

I would think of it were an aquarium, odds would be better if one were to use glass versus any other material.

Yeah, you might as well just address them to me lol

Well, I don't know where you'd get small enough rapiers or pistols, but it's generally best to discourage your frogs from fighting. You should definitely break up any race wars that may be occurring in your tanks between species .

Seriously though, why bother dividing one tank into two when you could just have 2 tanks? Even if you did divide a tank, you'd want everything (water system, food, etc.) to be totally isolated if you're putting different species on either side, so I don't see much in the way of savings and I see lots of potential for problems.

I build custom furniture for a living, and the project I had been planning fell through. Now I have a bunch of pent up creativity that needs to be channeled somewhere. I like to make things difficult, its more fun.

Besides, anybody can do two tanks. Why build two when you can make one big one[emoji1]

P.s. I'd NEVER give them rapiers and pistols. Maybe some little boxing gloves and a great stuff and coca fiber boxing ring. Now we're talking

You've got construction skills, why not make your own custom tanks and custom fit cabinets? If you're still on the idea of a two-part tank, building one from scratch would be more feasible than adapting an existing tank.

A multi-side-by-side-vivarium cabinet display like you see in zoos (with all tank infrastructure hidden) would be awesome in any living room.
