Well, i picked up some feeder fishes, and i'm afraid they may have left parasites in the water or aroudn the tank, if that's possible. If so, does anyone know the best, cheapest, and/or easiest way is to clean it? I also have rocks at the bottom of the tank and would i have to separate and disinfect the rocks? Thank you!

A 10% bleach solution will do it as well.

It works, but it can also leave a chemical residue. I tend to keep all my feeders in a methylene blue solution. It works very well. Kills any fungus, bacteria, or parasite on or in the fish and is non-toxic to the amphibians. It is safe enough for use with fish eggs...

Methylene blue is effective against external bacteria and fungi but as an anti-parasitic it has very limited value.

I use a hand steamer used for household cleaning. No chemicals are used...just extremely hot water.

i appreciate all the information that was given. But I bought the zoo med's wipe out 1 product. I was wondering if this will be able to kill the parasites and fungus that is left behind. Also, I have another question. My girlfriend has fishes and have caught ick. Which is a parasite on the external body of fishes. And we want to put some fishes together but she wants to disinfect the tank they live in. Would we have to take all the water out because we have no where to put them if we take the water out

Regarding fish: You SHOULD have a second tank, a quarantine tank for the new fish, a 10 or 20 gallon is fine. Keep the new fish in this tank for two weeks to make sure they are healthy. Before buying new fish you need to treat the old ones. When looking for an effective ick medicine try to find products containing Malachite Green or Chelated Copper Sulfate, which can treat your water for up to a month.

If you worry about the cost of another tank then try looking at your local classifieds you can usually pick up a 10gallon for around 10 dollars.
