My first attempt didn't go so well, my foam didn't adhere to the glass so I tore it apart and re started!
This time I used only driftwood, rocks and silicone. I coated the driftwood in silicone so that it won't break down or leach tannins. I added a whisper 10i filter to create my waterfall.
Here you go..... Start till now!

My question now, I can see the silicone on the front glass on the driftwood. It's bothering me. Should I try to take it apart and move the wood into corner hoping you won't see the silicone as much? This will also make a little more water area.

You could, different angles may help hide some of the silicone and give different views but I must say I am quite impressed so far. I love the rock work, it's going to look amazing when finished.

Finished!! I managed to hide the silicone a bit, still wish it wasn't there but I'm happy with my results!
How did I do??

Awesome! What frogs are going in/are already in?
Awesome!! This tank looks great! I like the plant selection
Thanks guys! I should start a new business!!
I'm going to get a couple fire belly toads!
I'm going away for a few days so I'm going to wait till I get back, and it will give the plants some time to adjust!
Originally I wanted dart frogs, but I think I have too much water for them.

Question! While I was putting water in I got carried away and the coco fiber is now kinda wet. Will it dry out some on its own? Should I remove some and add drier? The plants seem great now but I don't want to sog them out!
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It should dry out, but make sure that the plants don't get too much water
Ok. I have some other stuff drying just in case. I put moss on the driftwood to hide silicone and it was touching the coco fiber. I think it was acting like a sponge! Whoops!!

You don't want the soil dry. It should be damp to the touch. Also, plants require more than coco fiber. Cocofiber has zero nutritional value.
What are you using under the coco fiber for drainage?

I have a layer of gravel and weed fabric. What should I be using?

That's all you need for drainage. As far as soil, an mix, such as ABG (Atlanta botanical gardens) provides excellent nutrition for plants and provides excellent drainage.

So I took out about half the coco and added organic soil and mixed it together. I found some really nice moss( looks like the sphagnum stuff) and put that on top

They're here!! I got 3 firebelly toads. 2 seem to always be together and the 3rd just hangs out. They all eat well! Seems like they're starving! Can you overfeed them? Or will they stop when they're full
Also they tend to climb up the waterfall and hang out in the top of filter. Is that ok? They can get out easily on the plants.
Check them out!

Didn't realize the noises these guys make!! From a barking to purring sound! So neat! Except when it woke me up! Lol

They are great!
The barking is the male generally calling out for a lady....if you hear rapid clicking (maybe the purring you heard?) It is a frog who has been grabbed in amplex yelling for the eager one to GET OFF! - generally it is a male that has been grabbed by another male lol
