    Default tall tank problem

I am working to make my mixed aquarium more frog friendly. I have a few frogs in my tank with peaceful fish and so far they are doing well. But, I have read that the ADFs can have some trouble getting to the top of tall tanks. I watch them swim from top to bottom. Most of the time it is no problem, but sometimes I can see them struggling at the top. I already have a big log in there that provides a platform from top to bottom, but it only has a cave in the bottom.

Should I include another platform? Caves closer to the surface of the water? Am I overly concerned?

    Any suggestions appreciated.

To be honest, they aren't going to seek out the platform most of the time. Them landing on it will most likely be a happy coincidence. After surfacing to breathe, it is instinctual to get low quickly in case they were spotted by a predator. They may also be showing trouble 1) because they are not the most graceful of species or 2) your tank has a current from the filter that may be a bit strong for them.

How big is your tank? Can you post a picture?
72 Gallon Bow - ACF and GF tank.
26 Gallon Bow - ACF tank.

20 Gallon Long - ACF tank.

    hello desertgnome

I don't know how tall your tank is but you may try tall live or silk plants, if you could put a bunch in a corner or at the back of the your tank, where the waterflow is not too strong, your forgs might enjoy it. If they feel secure, they will probably hang underneath or on top of the plants
