Hi all! I've recently gathered some Gray Tree Frog eggs and the tadpoles just emerged a few hours ago. I have a plant and a bit of driftwood in their tank at the moment, but I'm wondering when I should start adding food for them.
Thanks, Vincent
mine ate as soon as i got them, but they had already hatched. let me see if i can find the Grey TF article. try one or two small sinking fish food bits and see if they eat them.
oh this says they have a yolk sac, so that has to dissappear first. http://www.frogforum.net/content.php...e-and-Breeding

I start feeding as soon as they hatch and start swimming. I've been pretty pleased with ZooMed Aqua Frog & Tadpole Food that I get at Pet Smart. The pellets are VERY tiny but don't cloud the water as bad as the algae tabs do. That's all I feed them until they turn 'frog' and then it's the flightless fruit flies.

Sorry. My understanding was the tads had emerged which led to the question of when to start feeding. Was also confusing as to what the water situation was since all they mentioned was a plant and piece of driftwood.
they did emerge, and they have a yolk sac on their bodies. therefore you don't feed right away. about 6 days after they emerge from the eggs is a good time to start feeding. read thru this article if you have time. http://www.frogforum.net/content.php...e-and-Breeding
