Hi guys its been awhile since ive been on here. But im back and have 2 red eye tree frogs. I just got them a week ago so they are anywhere from 9-11 weeks old now. And I was just wondering how long it takes them to develope their distinctive colors. I havent really found anything other than as they get older they get their colors. Thanks in advance guys.
Do they darken up at night at all? Mine will be fairly light colored during the day, even as adults, because of the LED lighting that I use. My smallest was 1.5 inches when I got him though. Was the one in the second picture injured?
2.0.3 Hyla versicolor "Eastern Gray Tree Frogs"
2.2.0 Agalychnis callidryas "Red Eyed Tree Frogs"
0.0.3 Dendrobates auratus "Turquoise and Bronze"
0.0.1 Anaxyrus fowleri "Fowler's Toad"
I don't know about the coloration, my red-eyes already had good coloration right off the bat, but they are so adorably cute!!!
I use a black light for night illumination. I can see them move around in there but i cant tell their color at night. But I was more referring to their orange feet and blue sides. And I dont think thats an injury. Thats the more shy of the two. I dont see that one too much during the day it normally hides itself really well. When I first got them the one in the second picture let me pick it up to put it in the cage. The other one jumped right out of the container. That one has more spunk.
More pictures. He seemed to get stressed quickly when taking pictures(no flash on).
Also the brown spot on the back left was just dirt. And now I see the traditional striping lol. I just never see them moving during the day
