    Default Urgent!!

I think it's a prolapse. I soaked her in warm partial sugar water for 23 minutes now she is in a 30 gallon with a hide until tomorrow. She doesn't seem near death but, I'm scared. It's awful finding this at 2 AM.

I went back out to look at her and she has just about pulled the organ back in on her own. She is a tough toad. Still going to the doctors regardless but I am praying she pulls it all in within the hour.

It went back inside her. The doctor said that she has no worms and no parasites. She is medically cleared and is healthy. So whatever happened was what I was talking about on the other thread. If something happens or a decline in activity I will get help. I'm so happy she is okay.

Unfortunately, prolapse tends to happen multiple times if you do not change conditions. Make sure that the feeders are no longer than the space between your toad's eyes. Make sure you either feed her in an area where she cannot take in anything else, or remove anything that could be swallowed and contribute to another prolapse. Personally, I'd probably put her in a paper towel qt set up to watch for fecal movements and make sure she can potty without an issue. If it happens again, either do a sugar soak or sprinkle sugar directly onto the prolapse (REAL sugar, not fake sweeteners.)

Edited to add - If it happens again, a vet visit may be necessary. Sometimes they need a stitch to keep everything in place.

Editing again - Night crawlers would be a nice soft food right now to help prevent it from happening again

I took out the moss that she can eat. I haven't fed anyone because i think they have gorged themselves last time. The doctor seemed to think it was also because she doesn't soak, so she wants me to soak her 2 times a week. The feeders I give are large crickets and baby night crawlers. Those are the biggest feeders. I only throw in enough to be eaten by all of them. Yeah, I used sugar the last time and she pulled it in her by morning in the hospital tank. Thank you for the reply

I didn't see the edits, I agree with a vet visit. She saw the Dr. Yesterday but, I want her to go again sometime. I might as well get all of my animals looked at to see if they have worms, parasites, or are unhealthy. I will hive her night crawlers tonight then thank you for the advice

No problem, doesn't hurt to get some testing done. You can cut up the night crawlers into pieces and put them in a dish, my toads used to love that. I just used a lid from like a sour cream container to put them on.
