Hello, my name is John and I am from Tampa, Florida. I have 3 dogs and my son has brought to my attention that he thinks this toad is dangerous to our pets.
I have tried to tell by pictures online but there are two types in my area that are very close and I cant tell the difference. I couldnt figure out how to upload images in my post, so I hosted on another site : http://s3.postimg.org/bi9burd83/KIMG0019.jpg
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
John
That's a cane toad. They are very poisonous if their toxins [secreted from the two lumps on their back/neck] are consumed. Just keep an eye on your pets to make sure they don't lick or chomp on them, and if your dogs begin acting strangely/foaming at the mouth take them to a vet ASAP and let them know you have cane toads in your yard
Thanks for your quick reply. It is much appreciated!
