    Default Hello From Long Island!

I've been lurking around the forum for a long time now. Such a great wealth of information here!

I've kept and bred various snakes and lizards over the last 30 years, worked in a couple of pet stores for over 20 years, kept and bred fish (fresh, salt, and brackish), and kept some newts and Axolotls.

I've raised hundreds of frogs at work. I'm not one of those people who just threw them in a tank and fed them once in a blue moon. No. They got set up and were taken care of as if they were my own. Some frogs were basically mine since they had been at the store for a couple of years under my care. With all of the species I have raised at work, I've only owned African Clawed frogs, Green Tree frogs, and a 4 1/2 lb Pixie (a gift from an anonymous customer who left a 10 gallon tank at the store with a note that said, "Frog for Heather"). One of the best parts of my mornings when I worked at the pet store was taking care of the frogs. I always loved the chirping, croaking, and grunting when I sprayed down the tanks. No matter where they were hiding, they'd all start making noise and coming out because they knew food was coming.

So finally, I brought home my first Pacman frog a couple of weeks ago. He was about the size of quarter but has nearly doubled in size since then. He was still absorbing his tail so he only started eating last week. Today I snuck a bit of ZooMed Pacman food in in between him eating a cricket and a wax worm. He also started chirping today. I've heard other Pacs do it at the store but I thought he was too young to do it.

Anyway, it's great to be here. If I have any questions, I'll be sure to use the search funtion before I ask.
