I'm looking for advice on a vertical conversion tank I'm thinking of building.
First off, what's the best type of hinge to use, acrylic piano type? Or living hinge type?
Second, what's the best way to mount the door vertically or horizontally?
Thanks

Between the 2 hinges you mentioned it depends on personal preference. I have used them both and like them both. If using the living hinge I would put silicone on the glass before you insert it. I had one work its way free overtime and call to the ground and shatter. Became a race to contain the frogs and replace the glass. Was not what I had planned for the day.
For the acrylic piano hinges I've only used them in doors that swing open but have seen them used on the fold down doors as well. I used Clear 2 part epoxy to secure the hinge to the glass.
