Default what happened?? Black lines on red eyes nose?

Is this from him trying to escape his cage?? Did he injure himself? its not mold or some sort of fungal infection is it? I tried wiping it off but it wouldnt come off, it looked like it was opening and closing, like a gash does. I put some honey on it (not his nostrils) then rinsed it off.

That's a rub. Usually it's because they're attempting to escape and rub it on the screen. Make sure you don't have anything else with rough edges in there that could be scratching it up. That could be plastic plants or sharp edged bromeliads. Make sure your temps and humidity are correct too. It looks like it should heal up on its own so long as he doesn't re-rub it.

Poor thing! its my new one, Newbie. I only had a feeding dish and water bowl over the night in there. So itd have to have been that he was rubbing it against the lid. Considering his feces are healthy and he seems to have no illnesses, Im going to go ahead and transfer him to Frenchy's cage. I think he has adapted now and so is more active and his cage must feel too small now. Poor fella... Thanks for the help.

Yeah, it's hard to maintain temps and humidity in qt. Good luck on the big move, hope she heals up on her own. 2 of my boys had some rubs from shipping, scratched them up on the deli cup lid, and they healed on their own. You have to watch it that close to the nostrils. They take a while to heal but if it starts looking worse or doesn't show improvement, you can use neosporin WITHOUT pain reliever and be very very careful to avoid the nostrils and not put some much on that she could wipe it into her nostrils.

Yeah that is true too. And thanks! I just put him/her in, at first she was frozen as she took in her new surroundings, and now she is moving oh so slowly, very deliberate as she goes to find a spot. How cute! Im sorry about your boys who got injured from the shipping. Okay, without pain reliever? I will do that if need be. And i will be very sure to avoid contact with the nostrils. After all, its their only way of breathing, thatd be very horrible if even one were to be blocked. Thanks for the help!

That is looking better. I think it'll heal up totally on its own. It'll turn blue as it heals
