Well. On a good foot this morning, while doing our rounds we found 1 of 3 anole eggs looked funny. Upon closer inspection. A baby was coming out! After the babe was out and removed, Out popped another baby from the same egg! While setting up an emergency baby tank we noticed one of the long tails freaking out.
Well She was making a nest in the moss and we got to witness first hand, the laying of 4 eggs! What an honor!
So now we have 2 more anole eggs due soon and a fresh clutch of 4 long tail grass lizard eggs!!!!
Heres the baby anoles, momma long tail, and her eggs!
HERES NEW MOMMA her name is fig. Daddy is newton. Get it lmao?
The wife is about to have a stroke. Lmao.
Anyone else out there like these guys?
i love anoles. the long tails would freak me out, tho. i would always be worried about hurting it somehow.

Well both both babies have shed, eaten fruit flies, and turned colors, one bright green one green spots. So both are alive and well. I look forward to more anole babies, long tails, and who knows from there! Anyone have any advice out there? This is new territory for us. 2nd generation babies are hard to get. But we suspect its due to the fact they recognize relations or identify somehow. Idk. Opinions advise?
Awe so cute. Congrats!
i don't know how many lizards I saw hatching... Tons lol but every time it's a very special moment, it's like you are privileged to see something that beautiful.
So so happy for you!
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!
Not too shabby for a mixed species tank. I cannot tell you how big of a pain (poop mainly) it is. Alot of problems along the way too... 0 casualties along the way though. Even something simple as these take mounds of work to properly house together. The work to make a 20 degree temp diff in a 55g... ugh...
So little! Congratulations!!
Well, both are healthy, eating well, and growing quickly! Also turning green lol. Not quite so sure what to do with all these babies yet but theres some time yet.
Maybe a large or xl exo terra in their future... problem is, with a successful harem there can be only 1 male. A 2nd causes fighting and stress on the whole community. Some people make their foilage thick so therers visual blockage, but i do not want that stress on my little psycos...
Sigh back to the drawling board.
But, but, but, my very firsted babies... nuh uuuuuuuuh lol.
That's pretty awesome. I love anoles and had a bunch way back in the day. I only had one set of eggs, but unfortunately they never hatched. Congrats
