    Default Hibernation?

    Hi,

My problem, if it actually is, concerns my two Tomato Frogs - over the past 6 months their nature has changed from being either on top of substrate or in a shallow hole to completely buried. This initially was for 3/4 days at a time then he and/or she would emerge, soak for 24 hours, defecate and then eat well. More recently they have both stayed deeply buried for weeks on end, then emerge, soak for upto 48 hours and often as not rebury without eating. Presently both have been buried for the best part of 4 weeks. I should say when they emerge they seem fit and don't appear to have lost any weight - the substrate temperature varies from ~80 F to 72 F at the surface and is the standard damp-ish coconut fibre. They are both adults and I have had them for 2 years [male ] 1 year [female] during which time they have put on weight and have appeared healthy.

So is this normal behavior - should I be concerned - what should I do if anything?
