    Default Long or tall tank

I was looking at building a tank to hold a breeding pair of auratas. So would it be better to have a 20 gallon long or a 20 gallon tall tank? I know that they like to climb but always see then listed as terrestrial frogs.

They don't climb very much at all. They like hiding spots on the ground. I would do a long tank for them.

I disagree with Paul. If provided with good branches for climbing, you'll often see them off the ground. Having said that, I would still get the long over the tall.

Okay thank you for the quick replies. Will the tank still be tall enough to include a false bottom and room for plant growth?

If that's a concern for you, get a 29 gallon.

Get a 29, its long and tall. Same length and width of the 20L and its on sale at Petco for $29. Remember plants grow upward.

I'm going to add more levels of branches for my auratus. I have blue and canal zone auratus, do you think these morphs will climb? I hope they do, I would get to see them more.

Well my observation on climbing Auratus is based on spending time at Ray's house (Stemcellular) and seeing his up on branches a lot. I suppose it must vary from race to race.
