    Unhappy Worried......

I ordered two baby Pacman frogs from Mike Phat. They are beauties!!
But my dilemma is that they are stuck in Memphis. He shipped them last night, and they were suppose to be here by 12 noon. I called FEDEX, and they said there was a "mechanical breakdown", and they will not be delivered until tomorrow. He has a 60 hour pack in their box. What is the chance of them surviving?
    I am sick over this.

Oh man... That's bad, im sure Mike will properly deal with it, the chances are, but pretty slim. Contact Mike and tell him what's happening.

Checked with FEDEX this morning, and they are still in Memphis. If they don't get out today, then we are looking at Monday. I guess what really bothers me, is why he shipped, when the forecast was an obvious winter storm. This could have been avoided.

I'm not sure the winter storm was expected to be this debilitating. You never know what path your product is going to take and usually overnight shipping has a pretty direct path. Honestly, it's a risk you take when buying a frog in winter time. It's why I would only have frogs shipped in spring and fall, not summer or winter.

I just hope there is any chance for them, poor babies

Amy, hard to say, I'd say it's more the shippers fault then the buyers. Don't ship if you are not confident it will safely reach the destination or you ship it air cargo, it's Way more $, but the buyer has a choice to pay or not. Usually there should be live arrival guarantee, and in that case there is probably, doesn't help these poor babies, so sad.

UPDATE: The little babies never left Memphis. I have called twice and talked to the FEDEX reps. There is nothing that can be done. The package will not leave Memphis until Monday. So that is that...I will dread opening that box.

About the shipping. I was not given an option on when to ship them. I only got an email with the tracking number. I ship leopard geckos all the time. I actually refused to ship any of mine out this week, because of the weather.

Fed Ex should be able to put the package in a climate controlled room, especially if you paid for overnight shipping. I would be on the phone with someone at the location until I had it guaranteed they were in an office or something. Especially being live animals, someone there will be willing to help.

Yes, they have it in a climate controlled office. But, I am concerned, because they will be in the box for almost 6 days. These are babies.

I get the concern, and it sucks that its supposed to be overnight shipping that takes nearly a week, but they have a low enough metabolism that they have a good chance of being ok, their biggest issue would be the cold. I hope they arrive in good health and just a bit hungry.

My babies have finally left Memphis (5 day transit), and are here at my local hub. They will be delivered in a few hours. If by some miracle that they are alive, what do I need to do first. I am thinking transferring them to a warm bath first, and then trying to feed. What do you think?

Honestly, I don't know much about pac-man frogs, but I would set-up their habitat, put them in there so they don't get anymore unnecessary stress, give them water dishes, and feed them overnight and possibly try to do it tomorrow or the day after tomorrow so they don't get more stress.(I don't know much about pac-man frogs, so please correct me if I'm wrong)

I wouldn't recommend that, if they have been cold at all, it could give them temperature shock. You might try room temp pedialite diluted with water in a 10% solution. I would make sure their setups are spot on other than temp and bring them up to optimal temp over a few days. Get them food right away too, probably calcium dusted but vitamin dusted could be good too, just not both at the same time.
