Welcome to Frog Forum !
Hi everyone,
I am Seth from Washington state. I am new to this forum, but was a active user on Caudata.org. I am more interested in Caudata than Anura. Anyway, just thought I would say "hi" and introduce my amphibians.
First picture, juvenile ( 3 of 4 ) Cynops ensicauda popei juveniles. I have changed their setup since this picture to a heavily planted tank with live wood and a few inches of water.
Second picture, juvenile Salamandra salamandra terrestris ( one of two), since this picture I have put them in a 150-160 gallon outdoor vivarium ( third picture ).
I also have three adult Bombina orientalis, at least one of which is a male. They are in a twenty gallon tank, one third land, two thirds water, densely planted. Currently in hibernation ( my C. e. popei and B. orientalis are in a unheated shed ).
Howdy everyone!

Hey Seth!!!! Welcome to FF!! With the Caudata forum being currently shut down, I am going to be on FF a lot more now. Glad to see you friend!

Hi and welcome! Love your guys! And that mossy tank! Very cool!
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!
Hi Seth !!
Thanks!
Bette! Nice to see another friendly profile pic. I will also frequent this site more often.
Thanks!
I will be sure to share more soon.
Thanks! The moss is starting to attach to the log, so it should start to spread and look better.
Stuart! I saw you were on here a while ago but hadn't joined, nice to see you are on here as well.
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! -Seth

Howdy and welcome to Frog Forum
I also like salamanders and newts. Sorry to see that caudata.org is down, it was a great resource for everything salamander. I currently keep a couple of tiger salamanders and hopefully get some Pleurodeles waltl soon.

I created an account here too, also used to post on caudata but lurked here. Sad to see the other forum shut down but with social media being all the rage these days, I just don't think the webs can support more than a couple of forums for each segment of the hobby so better one or two really active forums than checking 20 forums with 1-2 posts each.
What happened to the other forum? Was it just not active enough?
In any event, welcome to all refugees. I'll be looking forward to seeing your posts.

Thanks
Tiger salamanders are very cool, I would like to get some A. t. mavortium sometime, they are the only legal tiger species here in Washington. P. waltl are very cool as well, but be warned, if you don't want to breed them, make sure you don't get a pair! They breed with no effort sometimes, like Axolotls.
Howdy manderkeeper, glad to see you joined here too.
Operation has been suspended, so it is unclear if it will come back up. It was as active as this forum, I would say - about three dozen posts in a 24 hour period. The reason for suspension is unknown, except that it isn't about money, according to John.

I think that the forum suspension will be permanent if he's trying to figure out what to do with all the data
Hello there! I am Dr.Rabbit! Did anyone get the reference? No? Okay, moving on, welcome to the forum!
Ya I hope the old posts would be archived, there's bound to be some good stuff in there. If nothing else, I hope it can be made available long enough for someone to go in there pick out the best posts of all time and save them as a web archive.
Oh, there is some super valuable stuff in there for sure. If you dig back into the old days ( mid to late 2000s ) there were a lot of experts and experienced hobbyists on there, with great info all over. It would be a real shame to lose it all. I just wish I would have done more digging while I could.

Hey seth welcome aboard!
This can give you access to some old threads, but not completely all of them: Caudata.org
Welcome to the forum all our Caudata memebers.. We aren't for certain what the fate of Caudata will be either. If it is permanent I do hope all the data can be saved and imported here or at another site John chooses. Glad you all are here for how ever long you may stay. Always great to get more active members
