    Default Nose rub?

One of my frogs gets pretty wild at night and it has resulted in a nose rub. It's not too bad, but it's a bit bruised. What can I do to help him?

    1. Depends on why he's getting wild:
    A. Could need more tank space
    B. Might need more hiding spots
    C. Check to see that heat, humidity, lighting, etc. are consistent

    2. Apply thin layer of ORIGINAL (no pain killer!) Neosporin to the injury once or twice a day.

    Hope he gets better soon.
    Mom to these fine frogs!

Thanks he's got a good sized 30 gallon. At least 2 hiding spots, and heat, lights, and humidity are very consistent. He only started this behavior when he got his big tank. When he was in a 20 gallon he wasn't nearly this active. He's also started croaking. Possibly going through puberty? Lol. I'll be sure to add some neo to his nose, thanks for your advice!

Do you have a picture? If the nose rub isn't too bad, I'd leave it alone. You do need to figure out the cause, my tree frogs get pretty crazy at night but have never rubbed up their noses. What is your humidity levels at and how are you measuring? I've noticed your substrate looks quite dry in other pics and heat lamps can really zap it, that's why I'm asking.

I can get a pic later. He tends to rub his nose in the corners of the tank as if he wants out. I've opened the door when he does this to see if he wants out, but he usually just jumps on the ledge of his water dish and croaks at me. Possibly his way of having fun? Hunting? I've tried offering him food as well, he takes it aggressively but he still does this. I don't use anything to measure humidity. I have a hygrometer to get a general idea, but hygrometers, digital or not are just not accurate once they get wet. Basically, I do a light mist every day and sometimes have "rainstorms." If it's too humid, he burrows. If it's not humid enough, he looks dry. I'd say it fluctuates between 40-70%.

When using something to measure humidity, make sure you take it out of the tank between measurements. Just put it in for a few minutes to get a reading, and then take it back out. Do you have the screen top partially covered to maintain a little humidity after misting?

Thanks for the tip. And yes the top is partially covered.
