newbie culture questions

Hey everyone
my 29 gallon Viv being built by vivarum in the mist will be delivered a week from this Monday. I'm also getting 5 bumblebee frogs. I ordered a large kit of fruit flies to feed them. My questions are
1. How often should I start new culures?
2. Should I make 2 cultures at the same time?
3. How often do I feed the frogs? And how much?
I'm also having the Viv seeded with springtail and getting a separate culture of springtale.
any feeding tips or culture tips you can give is greatly appreciated

hey Patrick. everyone's system is different. mainly because of the amount of frogs, size, eating habits, ect. some people (like me, lynn, heather and paul) make cultures weekly, but we have many frogs. you will definitely need a MINIMUM of 2 cultures producing simultaneously to feed from. more as the leucs get bigger. you'll probably need a few extra cultures. the frequency and amount also vary. some people feed daily, some every other day, some 3 times per week. how much? rule of thumb is feed as many as they can eat in 10 minutes. believe me, they will eat as much as you offer, but you don't want to let them get obese either.

that's kind of the basics. did you order a couple producing cultures to start with? remember, it takes about 2 weeks to really get them producing.

yes I ordered 2 producing cultures. I'm thinking the 5 frogs will need 50 ff daily . They didn't seem to provide 50 a day. I fed them to my fish. I just started 2 more for when the frogs arrive. I guess I can do 2 cultures everyother week.
