Here's a couple more that may help. I don't know you guys are able to keep all of the different patterns or morphs straight.

One last thing. Do they look healthy? Underfed? etc.

I'm trying to learn what all to look out for, and the four PETCO's near me are my only opportunity to see them in person.
I'm surprised I haven't been banned from the store for bugging them every couple days

    Hi,

They all look to be Dendrobates tinctorius 'Patricia' to me. Their spots will not look identical form frog to frog.
It is very difficult to tell from the bury photo- but they look to be 'young adults'.
It impossible when purchasing, from anywhere to know if a healthy appearing dart frog is "healthy".
Many breeders spot check their collections for Rana and chytridiomycosis viruses.
In facilities where WC ( wild caught ) dart frog are housed/ bred/or sold --- the frogs are treated for intestinal parasites.

    PETCO has a vet....ask questions:
ie what ( if any ) veterinary care did they get prior to being put on the floor for sale?
    * watch for diarrhea..... listlessness.....abdominal bloating......difficulty catching their fruit flies

When I purchase a dart frog I determine the following:
    1) are they captive bred ( CB) or wild caught WC)
    2) how many generations have been breed
    3) are they siblings
    4) how old are they
    5) who is the breeder
    6) are they eating well , if so what --- watch them eat
    7) have they been given proper nutritional supplements
    8) nose rubs
    9) broken skin or worn coloring ( especially 'elbows' )
    8) guarantee?

I, personally, will not give an opinion as to whether or not PETCO is a safe place to purchase dart frogs.

Are there other breeders, shows, even a local breeder in your vicinity so you can choose from a variety of options- yes

Awesome, thanks for the help. I have a breeder I've been talking with, but he is about an hour away.

So.....PETCO gets to be my live example for frogs. Google and YouTube can only get a guy so far. I'm a very hands-on/visual type of learner and having frogs near me to look at is a plus.

After I make up my mind on what I want, and finish fine tuning my vivarium. My breeder and I will have already negotiated a list of frogs and price. An hour in the car later, and daddy has some frogs!

Your list you made will be extremely helpful for me and will come in handy while I'm learning.

    Thanks again
