I'm looking at building a glass vivarium but I'm not sure on the thickness of the glass I should use. I was wondering if anyone on here as build their own. The size I'm going for is 36" long x 18" deep x 24" high. The water level will be around 4" deep. I know I can get 2.5 mm glass from Lowes, but I'm not sure if that is thick enough. Also should the vivarium have a frame around it or can it be a frame-less?
That tank can be frameless, but you want to use a minimum of 1/4" glass. The stuff they sell at lowe's is much too thin for a tank that size.
