I have a heating mat for the underside of my viv for my juvenile GABF, but the temp is about 5 degrees lower than it should be as well as the humidity. From what i see the majority of people advise against any lighting, but I feel as i need some sort of lighting to bump my temperatures to the levels they need to be. Im looking to go buy some sort of lighting and need advice as to what i need to buy that will be good for my situation, as well as a timer to simulate day and night. What kind of lighting should i get? Here is a picture of my little guy.
I'm no expert as my oldest frog is maybe 7-8 months old now, but after I stuck some metal clamp lamps with 40 watt incandescent bulbs in them 2/3 of my gabf spend most of their days sitting right under them. The room that I keep them in I have a space heater in and I keep it 80 degrees and with an IR temp gun it sits about 85 under those lights. Bought a Mist King system too so they get sprayed a few times a day. Warm, humid = happy frogs.
