Hello! Me and my wife picked up a Pyxie today! We were so excited to bring the little guy into our family. We did our research for care, but we would love as many tips you could give us to give this cutie a long healthy life.
Substrate- ecoearth its damp to the touch but not dripping. you can grab a clump without drippage but when squeezed water comes out. Is this a good way to keep the eco earth?
Heat source- we have a 10 gallon tank with a small heat pad on the far side, middle part is cool enough to burrow then water bowl is on other far side with a plant. Thoughts?
Water- We use purified water bottles, will this water be okay?
Just from my research im making the assumption that it is a female due to the skinny front legs, no overbite whatsoever, and the thinner head, but it might still be too soon to tell? Please give us insight on what sex you think it is!
Too young to tell but the head looks massive , probably till reach 4 inches
Congratulations, he/she is adorable! I'm new to GABF's too, but if my guy is any indication, you might want to put a larger water bowl in your viv. Mine LOVES water, spends the majority of his time in it, mostly only burrows into the earth section at night. You'll love these guys though, so much fun and so much personality!
