    Default Transporting a pacman frog

2.5 hrs highway driving. I have a compact SUV. I'm gonna bring the whole setup (tank, etc). Day of departure calls for high of -5C and low of -11C. Best way to transport?

Im no expert but when I have to move my entire pacman enclosure I always take the frog out and put him in a container like a tupperware with some substrate in it and either have a passanger hold it the whole ride or I properly secure yhe tupperware so it cant move during the trip

Hunting hand-warmers are good to have. You can sit them beside the frog's tavel container, and they'll stay warm for several hours. Just make sure there's some sort of barrier like paper towels or a washcloth so they won't get too hot.

It will be fine as long as car heater can keep vehicle around 27-28C and you can stand the heat. Careful driving drowsy with heat. IRT stops; vehicle will cool down very fast if you go to rest room and/or get food. Would help to get a large disposable cooler that enclosure can fit in and use it to help keep heat inside. I've traveled for 9 hours with my ABF in 10G tank inside a cooler and it was just pissed at me for couple days .

Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !

I'll tell you how I do it:
climate controlled box : styro box with attached heat cables to the inside walls, humidity and temp probes and controller. Electrical stuff is being plugged into the car using inverter. Tank with a frog is being placed inside, but everything that can fall on a guy is being taken out. Im using plastic critter keeper with exo earth for pacman frogs, nothing else, for transportation.

This way you can travel any distance. My longest trip was for 2 days with stop in a hotel, during the stop I just plugged the whole thing into the socket in a hotel room.

Lija: I travelled once in Fall with ABF, a Budgett, and 3 IMIs. Smuggling them in and out of hotel was funny. The ABF was in 10G with all gear set-up and they also spent a week at my Sisters place. If I have to take all my frogs on a trip it will be very crazy .

If your vehicle has a seat warmer, heater or what ever you want to call it that may help. Put it on the lowest setting. Put a towel between the container and the seat. Carlos I think you meant C not F. The frog would be popsicle at that temperature.

Carlos lol, I had no problems, my box looks like a foam cooler nobody was asking ever, but I sure would have been kicked out for having snakes, frogs, etc lol
