Default How can I get more heat in a 36x18x36 exoterra

I currently have a led 6500k strip light on top, and 150w heat bulb and a UVB bulb for Waxy Monkey Frogs.

The tank is at 70F, I can't get it higher.

What about a Heat Mat on the back of the tank?

    Hello,

I use and have quite a bit of experience w/ exo heat cables.

My entire collection of PDF and tree frogs are in my basement.
Great in the summer , but NOT fun in the winter.

I can understand what you are going through.
I keep 2 -36"H exos for tree frogs that need to be heated --during the winter ( in my basement )
These enclosures are close together---sit side by side.

Two winters ago, I switched from ceramic heat emitters to exo heat cables.
I have one cable running under the enclosures and another between both encl on the side glass.

These cables do not burn your hand if you hold them.

If they are against the glass ---the glass can not burn the frog.
    vs
The heat emitters ( which work ) but need to be used w/ extreme caution.

Remember when using these or any additional heat sources you will have modify / increase the frequency of misting as they will dry out the interior.

I auto mist w Mist King ---but, I have to do additional hand misting for the tree frogs during the winter when the cables are on as there is no substrate to hold a lot of moisture in my tree frog's enclosures. I use very wet paper towel and still need to hand mist.

    Hopes this helps

What wattage are you using for your exoterras?
