    Default Situating Tank-- Safety Issue?

When my WTF, Martha, is out of quarantine I would like to get her a Medium-tall Exo-Terra, 24”W x 18”D x 24”H (would this be big enough for two WTFs?) The thing is this, the chest of drawers I'm planning on placing this on is 15 1/2" deep, so the tank would hang over a bit front and back. Is that ok or should I get a board to put down on top of the chest first that will fit the base of the tank? I don't want the tank cracking or being compromised in any way

It should be big enough for two. And I'd get a board. My 18-18-24 is crazy heavy. I can lift it, but not without worrying about damaging it. Since the exo terra is on feet I'd want all four to be on a flat sturdy surface.

also I had to get help to carry the thing safely. It wasn't just weight, partly it was a short arms/ leverage issue and me being concerned about the glass door design making it fragile.

Agreed. Plenty of room for 2. Definitely use a board underneath. I moved my 18x18x24 when it was full and it had to weight over 125 lbs. that kind of weight would most certainly crack it if it was resting on just the side rails.

Strange, I was told that would be JUST ENOUGH room for two WTFs.

Well, you certainly cannot go smaller than that. These frogs need a lot of space.

I'm not going to worry about Martha having a companion for a while yet anyway. She has to go through her 30 day quarantine, and then get moved into her new habitat. I just want to make sure there is space for her and a friend, whenever I get one to go in with her; THAT friend will go through at least a 90-120 day quarantine before going in with Martha (longer if the size difference is substantial). I do want the vertical space of the 24"x18"x24", but I think I'm going to have to find clever ways to get her to use it; she's very much a terrestrial type. I hope her future companion will be the opposite and help encourage her to climb and get exercise.

...Truth be told I'd like to get an even larger Exo-terra than what I'm planning, but nowhere to fit it. Someday when we do have the space I can happily upgrade.
