I feed my ABF nightcrawlers, crickets, and a pinky mouse every 4 weeks , but the crickets seem to small now. I was going to start feeding him dubia roaches, little did I know dubia roaches are illegal to own here in Florida. I was wondering if locust is good for AFBs and if their are any other food sources I should try. Are Discoid Roaches good?
DIscouids are great! By the way he might still like crickets. Mine does. It seems ridiculous such a tiny in comparison crickets, he loves them silly frog.
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!
Locusts (Breeded locusts, not wild caught of course) are perfect.
My female eats locusts since 3 years and she is perfectly healthy (In addition with nightcrawlers, Dubia roaches, black crickets and mices).
As others said, i'm pretty sure locusts are just a sizeable prey item to them. If you are a bit anxious about feeding them you could remove their long, hind legs as some OC keepers i know lol
