"Onaga" looks like he's growing everyday! I swear iv heard "him" croak three different nights.
Anyway, I was wondering how many GABF (baby) owners actually go by this 15 minute rule? I think my frog would eat himself to death if I let him munch down for 15 minutes straight. But Yesterday, after eating some worm pieces, he randomly darted at the substrate and got a huge mouthful of eco earth. Spent the next few minutes doing his best to spit it up.
Could I be under feeding? Was he still hungry after having an entire (chopped up) nightcrawler? I figured it was best to feed him one nightcrawler a day instead of doing the 15 minute thing. What do you guys do when feeding baby pixies? Should I be feeding him more/less?
I don't see why the 15 minute rule would be so recommended if it could cause problems.
ur guy/girl can eat up to 3-5 nightcrawlers a day and be fine, and even more....ive had many pixies and fed them quite a good bit...i think one nightcralwer a day is too little...u might want to do 3-5 a day
Exactly what habeeb said! 15 min is a guidline only, more accurate would be as much as he can eat per one sitting.
I know now it seems crazy when you think of the amount of food and you look at the size of the frog, they need insane amount of food when growing. It will slow down later, but right now it is crucial to feed lots.
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!
Choose a portion to give him everyday. I used Nightcrawler chunks and 20 half inch dubia nymphs as my males main diet.
Thanks for the help.
I'm sure Onaga appreciates the extra food.
Always fed ABFs and Pacmans to satiation with no issues. It happens way faster than 15 minutes; usually they eat their full in less than 5 . When they start to diminish their feeding response to daily feedings, is time to go every other day.
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !
