Default Are captive milk frogs toxic?

Hi guys, first post here! I would really like to get an Amazonian milk frog but was told the milk they can secrete from their back is toxic, is this true even in the captive bred ones? Any particular differences in raising these frogs from other ones? Thanx a bunch!

Hello and welcome to frog forum! I believe that they are toxic in captivity, but don't quote me on that. And on top of that I think that they only secrete the toxins if they feel threatened.

They have the same toxicity in captivity as in the wild - but only when they secrete it. I have them and have never had them secrete this milky toxin on me. If they get a bit stressed they will pee on you (much like most other frogs) but this is not the same as the toxin

To further add to both of these correct statements, the toxin is also very mild. If they do secrete it, it will cause a bad stomachache at the most
