    Default !!heating issue with dubias!!!

    Good morning,

I have a little problem that I'm just now noticing. My "frog room" is a converted garage and attached to my wood shop. Its on s corner of the house that doesn't get too much sun in the winter, and has stained concrete floors.

My wife and I tend to like cooler temperatures and usually keep the house around 63°-68° during the winter months. The frog room is normally much cooler than the rest of the house, and if I'm in my shop with the garage door open, the attached frog room cools down even more.

All of these factors are going to be an issue for me trying to breed dubias. Most of the heating pads say that the will keep the temps 10° to 20° warmer than room temp. Which should be too cool of temps for breeding dubias.

Does anybody have any tricks, suggestions, ideas to keep the breeding temps up where they need to be WITHOUT bringing the roaches into the main part of the house?

Any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED

    Thanks

    Abran

I currently heat all my roach colonies with 150watt red bulb in an 8" dome fixture. Has worked well for me, most likely switching to a space heater to keep the whole critter room in the low 80's though.
