Smile Best plants for 10 gal vivarium

Hello, new here. So I thought the best place to look for the best small tropical plant species would be a forum like this one. I plan on modifying a standard 10gal aquarium, turning it into a front opening vivarium for my house geckos and toad. I wish to know what hardy plants you guys recommend, specifically bromeliad species that stay quite small. I am planning on making a background and everything for it so all suggestions welcome for ideas. This will be nothing fancy, no foggers or misters, and no running water (just a plain old dish). I also plan on tipping it length-wise, unless the other way is recommended.

    Hey Baily

First and foremost Welcome to the Frog Forum!! Here you will find the most friendly and helpful community of frog nuts this side of the internet.

Secondly - Converting 10g is super easy. You can do it vertical or horizontal with the front facing forward. Just depends on what you plan to keep.

And onto stuff the ruffles a lot of feathers. I am going to start out by saying The Frog forum and it's staff do not support or recommend the mixing of species in a tank. All sorts of bad things can and will most likely come from it. We wont crucify you for it and we wont belittle you for it, but be prepared to hear from a lot of people how bad it really is.

All frogs (I say all loosely because some require more) need a Bare minimum of 10g of usable space. That is space above the substrate and in front of any background you buy or make. 10g tanks can be used and are pretty common, but most people use them for breeder frogs or as grow out tank for frogletts.

A 10g for the uses you are planning on will be cramped and stress the occupants out pretty quickly. For the toad alone you might get away with a 10g, but I would want to know what kind of toad before I said that with any real certainty

Welcome to FF Like Paul said, mixing species is usually frowned upon.

Really great plants you can use are baby rubber plants, pothos, earth star bromeliads, and so on. the list goes on forever

    Hey baily welcome aboard.

How bout you try your hand on some crypts (cryptanthus) and tillies (tillandsias) most stay low and tolerates a more drier setup than most broms. An african violet would also look pretty on it
