I am about to buy a white's tree frog, and I was a little unsure about a few things:
1) Substrate: I have heard from a pet shop employee that plantation soil is good. I also heard from this forum that coconut fiber is the best. What is better for a beginner frog keeper?
2) Vitamin and Calcium supplements: I know I need vitamin powder supplements. How much? Do I need calcium supplements? How much?
3) How many crickets should I feed the frog?
Thanks!
Welcome to the frog forum!! I'm SO sorry that we missed your post!
Plantation Soil and Coconut fibre are the same, so for a non-planted tank, it is best to use. But for a planted tank, ABG mix or something similar is needed.
You will need both calcium and vitamin powders. Calcium every other feeding and Vitamins once a week. What i *used* to do (before I started feeding nightcrawlers) was i put the crickets in a cup and swirled them around until covered in powder.
3-5 crickets a day for juveniles, every other day for sub adults and three times a week for adults is the proper feeding schedule
