Default Just noticed some weird coloring on my pacman

Sorry for posting so many threads in one night!

I posted earlier about Blob not burrowing. When I was taking pictures to post on here of his tank for that post, I noticed he had some brownish-reddish coloring on his lower back towards his but area that I don't remember him having before. I'm not sure if it's something serious I should call the vet about- like skin irritation or infection- or just a color change?

He is acting fine otherwise, he ate gut loaded crickets dusted with multi vitamin today and he was going pretty crazy for them. He was just on antibiotics not long ago too.

Here is a picture, the coloring I am concerned about is the brown/red triangular areas at the left and right parts around his but (if that makes sense). What are your opinions?

Its normal. Cranwelli are usually various shades of brown, tan, gray, and rust color.

It's normal. The brown coloring will probably increase as he gets older to the point that he's more brown/tan than green.

    Thanks Grif and DV

I feel kind of stupid for being worried now lol. I didn't realize they changed color that dramatically, he was green and then suddenly he wasn't green. I guess my little guy is growing up.

It would be kind of cool to see him almost fully as the brown/tan rather than the green.

They change color for multiple reasons i lncluding mood, stress, temperature, humidity, illness, camoflage, and reaching adulthood which will be their final stage of their normal coloration change other than becoming pale or dark caused by the first five examples.

So he could be sick or something? Should I contact the vet?

As Carlos said the frog is fine. I was just giving examples of why they change color not implying something was wrong.

    No cause for alarm.
