    Default Water heating

I have a 40 long breeder that is about 60/40 water to land ratio and water is 6in deep for my GABF. I have a heat pad on the side of the tank and he hangs out right next to it. I would like to heat the water but I'm not sure how would be the best way to do that. I also have two 60w lights with a 60w heat ceramic thing.

I have ceramic heater right above the water, works for me you don't need to have warm water, as long as general tank temps are fine your froggy is gonna be ok.

There are aquatic heaters. Just search them up on amazon, neherpetoculture.com, joshsfrogs.com, etc.

Estimate the actual volume of water and get an aquarium heater for it. Recommend Eheim; they are very accurate, can be calibrated against a thermometer, and glass is shatter proof pyrex. I've had them dangling in big (12 in. plus tail) cichlids that bang them all the time and never had one break .

Thanks for the quick reply everyone. Think I'm going to get an aquarium heater. The eheim looks good and have good reviews from what I have read. Sounds like they can take a big beating and that's a plus because my GABF likes to try to destroy everything it touches

Ummmm, isn't an aquarium heater bad to put in the section where the frog spends time without some sort of screen or something to protect the frog from getting burnt?

Bill, exactly why I don't have it. Carlos can you pls specify how do you use it?

Unless the water area is big... And you can somehow to keep it standing... No idea, I think I'd rather have the heater above and away from big monster.

My water area is big and the filter can't be reached by frog . Sorry; should have made that clear in my post .

Well here are some pics of the water side of the tank.

Few pics also of my chunky monkey. I'm not sure of the frogs sex though. The waterfall also runs charcoal filters also besides my 406

406? As in fluval 406? If that's so, then it makes things even easier. Inline heater on the filter. You may have to replace one of the filter hoses to use it, but you will have easy access to adjustments and won't have to worry about anything extra in the water.
