    Default Moss from outside??

Hey I live in Toronto if it matters but I was on a hike in a conservative area and I got some moss and was wondering if I could put it in one of my terrariums?? Name: uploadfromtaptalk1411930982318.jpg

    Default Moss from outside??

Probably no chemicals, but there may be parasites. I would put the moss in a container for a few weeks and flush it with water every day before adding it to a terrarium

It will thrive for a while then die. Native, temperate mosses require a dormancy period (winter).

You can take it out and put it in the freezer for about 6 weeks. But why, when you can buy tropical moss cheap and not have to worry about it.

i love outdoor moss because it goes through a color change before it dies . i had some that turned purple it was really cool .Even dead it lasted a long time as long as i kept it moist .
flush it well with water though to get rid of any bugs n stuff . good luck!

I think someone else asked about that and called Joshs, but they never responded on how that went. E-mailing or calling them would help. I recently watched a youtube video on a tour of their facility, and their operation is HUGE.

Just to clarify, nobody is gonna do cross border shipping for anything live, moss, dirt, tree fern, cork, etc included. Too much paperwork included, too expensive to get needed licenses, etc.
