Found these little guys in a stream way out in the Mojave desert. I looked around for an hour for their parents, but it was 100 degrees and it was getting too much.
Finding the parents was not necessary as the tadpoles are 'on their own' and best if left right where they were. ( IMO)
There in NO reason to intervene. The frogs know what they are doing.......we could never replace the instinctive decisions necessary
for them to survive and do their part in procreating and mainlining the species. In fact, some of the tadpoles may be 'food'.
Removing ,even a few, could cause the demise of the rest

Cool find, probably of a toad species that can handle that environment. Where you 4 wheeling?
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !
I was looking for the parents so I could identify them, not so I could assess their parenting skills.. I know not to mess with the offspring. And I was just hiking really, I often like to just walk around places like the desert, because I end up noticing things I wouldn't notice on a vehicle
