Lightbulb Heat Regulation with Germination Heat Pad

Hi All! New to the forums here.

I am planning to purchase a PacMan frog within the next 6 months (after dubia colony gets going). The PacMan will most likely be kept in a translucent Rubbermaid container with a germination heat pad affixed to the side as the heat source. The germination heat pad will be purchased from Menards, is 10 x 20", and maintains a steady 85 deg. Fahrenheit heat. (link here: http://www.menards.com/main/outdoors...57-c-10125.htm)

Here is the question. Does there exist a method by which I can decrease the nighttime heat from 85 to a stable 78-80 Fahrenheit range? (Excluding simple distance adjustments) I know there exist dimmer switches and so on, but I'm unsure if these are compatible with a germination heat pad.

    Thanks for your input!

Default Heat Regulation with Germination Heat Pad

Hello! Welcome to the frog forum !!

The best staple food for pacmans are night crawlers. Dubias are the second best.

The ideal pacman temps, from what i have read, is 80-83 degrees fahrenheit. 75-77 at night

the heat pad will work, allow it to be attached the cage fully during the day, then, remove half of the pad from contact with the cage at night or until you reach the right temp.
