I was wondering if I could keep ADF's and ghost/cherry shrimp in a 5 gallon, and If so how many? Second question would be would it be okay to feed the frogs small roaches? I read that live food is better for ADF's but I would prefer not to start breeding new feeders.
Thanks in advance for any information,
ADFs need room for movement, so I wouldn't put more than one in a tank of that size. The shrimp will be fine except that they will get eaten, eventually. Lots of hiding places and well fed frogs will help decrease the chance of shrimps-in-tummies.
If you do a google search, there are loads of care sheets to start you off, but here's one for now:

I'm pretty sure the mainpage of that site, http://flippersnfins.yuku.com/, is a forum for ADF, so it might be worth poking around there for info, too.
i agree wit jclee on viewing the link...i just started raisin ADFs as well i started out wit 2 last week now i have 7..i have a 10 gallon aquarium with them an 2 ivory mystery snails and 1 froglet dat i got at da petshop for free today..not sure wat kind it is yet...but im not sure dey will eat roaches and in my opinion im sure dey carry harmful deases dat may cause your ADFs to become sick or die so i dont recommend it just get freeze dried bloodworms or frog an tadpole bites from your local petshop dey jusy 2.99 and itll last a while...an remeber for each frog u have it requires a gallon of water
I think the link I posted suggested 3 gallons per frog. I suspect that's as much about their movement needs as it is about their bioload (i.e. the amount of waste they produce).
Thanks, the links were very helpful.
I'm still unclear on the roach feeding, I don't think they have diseases, they are captive bred...my other frog has been fine eating them unless, adf's are more sensitive?
Because ADFs are fully aquatic, roaches aren't the most suitable food. They would be better off with pelleted foods or bloodworms. The care sheet I posted should have a section on their feeding.
It was a joke. Hence the "". Could you please not use short hand and try to spell correctly. It makes it easier for us to read and to help you out.
