One of the main reasons people buy nightcrawlers is composting, and I'd like it if I could setup an indoor composting bin that I collect feeder worms from. As the worms would end up being food for a salamander, toad, and garter snake, I wonder how restrictive I'd need to be with the things I give the worms. Biomagnification of toxins and good, old fashion bacteria from left overs could potentially be harmful for said pets. Do you think it would be irresponsible to even try?
If you search the internet will find instructions and videos on how to set up the worm bin and what to feed worms. Basically you feed them kitchen scraps or cut-up veggies if the scraps are not enough. No meats, no citrus, no salty snack foods, no grass clippings, and no tomatoes. Good luck !
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !
