hi all,
any1 know the species of this?
I havnt a clue, but could breed if there are others...
cheers
Looks like some sort of glass frog.
its a reed frog. it has been indentified by science and is in the trade being bred too. not a glass frog!
This looks much to large to be any species of reed frog (Hyperolius). What species do you believe it to be?
I have glass reed frogs (Hyperolius pusillus) though they do look similar as far as color goes again this looks a bit larger than what most reed frogs get. Little hard to tell with out a size reference though. But I am almost 100% positive it's not a reed frog of any kind.
Do you have a picture of it's belly?

To identify a species you have to provide all known information like country and location of origin; common name if being sold; etc. In first post it's stated you don't have a clue; but in second science have identify it. I'm confused since both are contradictory .
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !
It has a scientific name as I was at a reptile show recently and a guy recognised it, but couldn't remember what its called :S. @Daniel, I thought it was the same reed frog as yours too, but not sure. don't be deceived by the photo, the frog is like an inch long, and that's being generous. its wild caught, but to prevent it from being homeless I bought it off the guy.
here's some more photos.
looks more like a glass tree frog than a glass reed frog. but if it is a reed frog its going to have to be a member of the hyperolious family. so you bought it off a guy to prevent it from being homeless? if its wild cought did he say from where it was captured?
You mind putting your hand next to the frog or a ruler? Just so we can get a better size reference.
Def a glass frogs.

im with you Paul.. i think its a glass tree frog, which is super awesome..
I'm still undecided. Could still be a reed frog if it is indeed as small as he said it was. It def has the head shape of a reed frog.
Is there a type of reed frogs where you can see the organs? I thought that was mostly specific to glass frogs?

do you still have nay of those little reeds Daniel??
Sadly one passed away several months ago. But the other one is still going strong.
bummer to hear that. i would like to get my hands on some. i love reeds.. but no body works with them and they are hard to find uscb.. ya know.
Yep I am now firmly in the reed camp on this one. The shape and coloring look a lot like the Glass reed frog.

well it is deffo a reed frog, I think its a female as she doesn't call.
its not glass frog, I have seen them and she doesn't look that way. I though she might be H. Pusillus, but she doesn't look quite the same.
she has orange eyes and a translucent body, the spots only seem to appear when she's awake.
omg this is proving to be difficult, lol
its WC from Africa
