    Default first viv build-Ranitomeya ventrimaculata

So here is my build journal for my first viv....ever. Some of the materials you guys use are not as available in South Africa (I.. egg crate), so I had to come up with other ideas. I used an 18 inch tall aquarium that I had laying around, with a glass lid that I cut to fit snugly. I'll post some pics when the plant life gets established, which will also add some vertical dimention to the cage, since these frogs love climbing though I haven't gotten the frogs yet, I chose to let the vivarium mature before adding the frogs-I already noticed some mold growing this morning, but that is natural.

Tom he has the species in the title R. Vents

A very shy frog. You will want to have a couple of broms in there for them to hang out on. They love to sleep down in between the leaves and will spend 90% of the time on or near them. I have to Vents and vary rarely get to see them lol.

Looking good! I'd recommend a good amount of leaf litter on the floor. Leaf litter is great for foraging and helps micro fauna establish.

I haven't added the frogs yet, simply because they are still pretty small they will disappear in the viv hahaha). so I decided to tub them for a few weeks until they get bigger and I have established that they are all eating.
