It depends on the species of pacman frogs. Cranwelli usually get 2.5-3" for males
and 3.5-4" for females. Some species can easily get up to 8" for large females!

Lol nope, that is not correct.
Commonly available pacman frogs are C. Cranwelli and C. Ornate.
Both are pretty close size wise, females can easily be at 5" and males 4-4,5". Ryan it is not normal for a make cranwelli to be less then 3,5-4". Majority of ornates are bigger then cranwelli, males can be 4-5", females 5-6".
The pic in my avatar is male cranwelli 4", he was sick and stunted at the time pic was taken. Will look for more pics, but there are tons of those here.

ha, found my old thread http://www.frogforum.net/pacman-frog...-then-now.html

nice to see old stuff, will do an update when i get home. She is not eating now like she is used to lol

Some sizes are slightly exagerated. Most ornata do not get any larger than cranwelli. The average for ornata size is 3.5" to 4" for males and 4.5" to 5" for females. There are several factors that determine whether the frog will surpass the average.

Genetics, food source and proper climate are key. Giving them a highly nutritious food source from the time they leave the water greatly increases their chances not to mention helps to grow a strong animal. Supplements should be given as well. Horned frogs need a lot more calcium than most other frogs due to their high growth rate.

Just a comment. The guy in the video should have been wearing rubber gloves, right.

Not exactly, I wear gloves only for quarantined animals. For healthy yes it is better to wear them, but you can also wash your hands and rinse them with conditioned water before handling.

If wanting to see larger animals recommend looking for pics of adult wild caught ones. Myself think that for larger frogs like Pacmans, ABFs, etc.; a ratio of 60-75% of the wild max, is about right for captive kept pets .
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !

I don't use latex, but as long as they are powder free I don't believe any harm is done. You want to get the gloves wet just like your hands before handling.
