I got my frog a few days ago now and I was just wondering... what exactly are the signs that he/she will start shedding?
My frog seems fairly happy,
the temperature in my tank is exactly the same as he/she was use to in the shop,
the substrate is a perfect, moist but not wet texture,
i mist the tank 3-4 times a day, depending on how humid it is already
and he/she eats around 4 locusts every other day,
i think he/she's settled in really well c:
also, can you tell me if I'm over feeding my frog or not? /:
he/she's around 2.5 to 3 inches so, juvenile?
Thank you for reading! 💕
Signs of shedding are not like reptiles. The frog will puff up like a balloon then let the air out then peel the skin off like a shirt towards the mouth and eat it. I'm not sure how big the locusts are, but he could probably eat more than 4.
Insects should be same as distance between frog's eyes; so that locust in pic looks OK. Pacmans do not overeat, so no worries there. Do try get some european night crawlers and make them the main food for your frog .
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !
Earlier this week I noticed that FROG was moving his legs in a strange way. I realized he was shedding his skin and was moving it toward his mouth. That is the first time I have seen him do this. It looked like Suran Wrap.
