Default Will fish work with fire bellies(40 gallon setup)

I want to put a few fish in the water section of the firebelly toads tank. Will this be okay, something like guppies or tetras?
    What about a snail?
Do these frogs excrete poisons constantly or only when threatened like toads do?

If I cant keep fish I may decide on getting a different species of frog that would work with a few small fish. Im still in the planning/research stage so plenty of time to figure out what I want or how this froggy thing works

As always you want to be careful whenever mixing species, The fish themselves wont harm the frogs but they may become dinner for your toads, ive kept fish with my FBTs and have never had any problems. I wouldnt put the snail in there because if he is eaten then the frog may suffer from impaction. Please be careful!

Just an update. I have an awesome tank going. Its the 40 breeder but I arranged rock and slate to make land area and partial submerged land area about a an inch deep and so forth. I am using a large exoterra waterfall filter and midsize river rocks for substrate. I have 4 firebellies, 4 danios, 4 rasborras and 4 red eye tetras in about 25 gallons of water. I have the frogs hand feeding so can make sure each gets food(kind of awesome they eat from my fingers). I also have some pothos and fern with a small t8 light.Im really really happy how it all turned out too.I keep a check on ammonia levels and so far has been perfect.
The fire bellies stay in their area and rarely go in the deeper water. I have stayed with faster fish and keep the frogs well fed..I did lose a frog when I was refreshing the water a few weeks back, I didnt realize they would jump out so quickly with the screen off.
Im hoping to add a moss ball too in future.

snail shells are digestable calcium would be more worried about some sort of internal parasite or pathogen if if a snail was eaten.

I dont have any snails in the tank. I was actually more worried about the snails being more sensitive to the poison on the frogs. Those snails are as big as the frogs its doubtful the frogs could do any damage unless they nibbled at the soft parts. Frogs arent known for nibbling

What I really want to get is a couple of moss balls now.

Although i don't know of frogs eating snails and dying, i know axolotls and other aquatic salamanders have choked on them not being able to cough them up, its a matter of caution. If the snails are larger than the frog's head, it shouldn't be much of a problem.

I was thinking about those big gold inca snails, they are easily as big as a fire belly. I could see those silly frogs trying to eat a snail that was smaller.

I had a larger snail with my fbts for a while with the toxins having no noticeable effect on it. It did end up dying when it managed to get itself stuck in the filter intake. I could see how they could be a choking hazard but if they were appropriately sized to be swallowed impaction isn't a risk.

I have my betta tank beside my FBT enclosure and my toads seem to be interested in doing something to the fish everytime it swims close to the side lol

I've got my betta in with my two in a 40 gallon and I have a filter so the toxins won't effect my betta. He's too big for my two guys to eat and besides, they're never interested in eating anything in the water.
