    Default introduction/question

Hi everyone. Im more of a reptile guy but you guys deal with water features more then any of use. So im constructing a homemade enclosure. Will post a build thread with plenty of pics along with fail attemps also to give people better understanding why it didnt work. But back to what I was saying. Its 36" x 18" x 36" im planning to build the actual enclosure for less then its exo terra version. Hahaa. But ive come to a major road block. Now I know I can use aquarium safe silicone made for fish tanks. But seeing im trying to save some money here and there. I was wondering what do you guys use.. I ask because I read about the ge1 and 2 now both have mold protection in it. So what have you guess switched over too or do you still beilieve in either of the ge silicones. Im pretty much making the bottom of the enclosure water but with lizard landscaping 36" x 18" x 3" hahaa I have egg crate for my land area. So if anyone can answer this id be greatful.. been reaearching for months now. But giving most ppl say aslong as its 100% silicone its good. Till you read the labels. Thanks again everyone. Who helps me out.

    LaTa

I use aquarium safe fishtank silicone. Anything with a mold inhibitor will be toxic for your frog. I got mine on amazon because it was very expensive at the local stores here.

I shopped around at local hardware stores and found some 100% silicone without mold inhibiters in it. It took so long to find them I bough 10 tubes lol.

Thanks for the speedy reply..... I know of the toxicity of most silicones and the enclosure is for neon tree dragons. Japulauru splendidi some thing like that. I was just looking for an alternative since I will be needing alot of it.. and since most tubes of aquarium safe are small ill probably spend the same amount on that as I would an exo terra tank.
