I was outside cleaning my deck for my brothers graduation party, and I found this little guy hiding inside of a tarp on the deck. I was looking at him trying to ID him, but I couldn't come to a decision. So I thought, hell, lets see what other people think. So I took some photos.
To me it looks more than a toad than a frog, but it had really sticky toes that reminded me of my white's dumpys.
Hi Nate, Looks like a Grays Tree frog to me. Very cute healthy looking frog.
I concur with Ebony, definitely a Gray Treefrog. I'm not which of the two versions, the Eastern or the Cope's (or both) are in your area, and they look identical. Kurt and John have a great care article where you can learn more about them:
FrogForum - Gray Tree Frog Care
Funny you should mention it being like a toad, I just read last week that they are sometimes referred to as "Tree Toads". I guess it's the bumpy skin they sometimes have.
Definately Gray's Treefrog (Hyla versicolor)
My first thought was a gray treefrog, but then again I wasn't sure.
Good to know. I let him go after the "photoshoot".
That is soooo cool having that little dude in your back garden hunny I'm soo jealous
