Default What breed is my new friend, Sr. Frog

My sister came home 2-3 days ago with Sr. Frog and she said he's mine!
I thing he's a BullFrog but I'm not for sure. And how do I sex him? Any one now about his age? How do I house him? What does eat?

It's a bit hard to see the photo. Can you get a clearer pic?

Hello and welcome to FF ! A clear pic from the side would help identification a lot.
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !

Can't see the large tympani typical of Rana catesbeiana in your frog. Could be pics angle or my old eyes. If you follow link can see a good description and many pics to compare to your frog. If a Bullfrog; you can pretty much follow this care guide for Leopards; but just provide it a much bigger tank .

Awe . I'm sorry to hear. They can jump quite far. They really need a lot of room.

I have a large male bullfrog who lives in a 75 gallon tank and he would love a larger one.

After having a bullfrog, I feel as though they do much better in the wild. Mine is captive bred. They love to swim and jump far. They need very clean water. They eat a lot and produce a lot of feces. Northern greens are similar to American bullfrogs, yet smaller. Both species can be skittish.

A great way to have some... Build a 4ft deep pond in your yard with a waterfall area and some pond plants. They'll find it . Then you can enjoy them in their happiest surroundings... Outdoors and thriving with freedom. It's very likely they'll use the pond as a breeding pool. They often return to their pond if they feel it is safe . Both bullfrogs and/or green frogs will likely come.

    I'm sorry for your loss.

I'm getting a bullfrog and African dwarf frogs soon, in the dwarfs cage there's going to be fish and lots if hiding places. In the bullfrogs cage there's going to be lots of water, hiding places and rocks. I have to clean my room then I get to get them from pet smart or petco.
