Hi,
I am new to frog forum and i need some helpful advice from you guys on the forum. I have recently got a BIG tank (45x45x45) for my fbt's and they seem to sit in the water all the time. This got me thinking: what aquatic plants should i have in there to make it nicer for them. I am looking for plants that they can sit on (like a lillie pad) but smaller size. If anyone can help my giving some suggestions about what plants i could use i would be very grateful.

Sadly, there really aren't any plants like that in the size that would fit in that tank. Most plants that float AND would fit in that size tank would not be able to hold the weight of an fbt. Closest you may get is amazon frogbit (salvinia natans). But I can assure you that it will not support the weight of anything larger than a thumbnail dart.

Is anubias a good plant as i heard it can grow out the water a bit? Is there anymore stalk like plants or large-ish leaf plants i could use?

You can't go wrong with anubias, just remember not to bury the rhizome, or it will rot and the plant will die. Cryptocoryne species are excellent for an fbt tank. They are almost native for them.

What specific type of anubias should i get as i looked it up and theres loads of them!

Unfortunately, that's where you have to do some research. They all have similar growth habits and requirements. You just need to pick out a few species you like and see if they are available to you.

Can you tell me any good looking anubias and how do you attach it to a piece of wood?

Your best bet is to start with the common beginners. Angustfolia, barteri, barteri var. 'nana', barteri var 'nana petite', coffeefolia. Those should get you started.

To attach them, you can use fishing line, cotton thread or super glue (yes, it is frog safe). Be careful with super glue though, it turns white when it gets wet.
