This last week, Atlas has started to chirp whenever he hears sirens. I live across the street from a police/fire station. This should be interesting!

I got a new phone a few days ago and just yesterday my Grey, Buddy, Started calling to my ring tone when I get a voice mail, lol. I guess he likes my new phone! :P
That is awesome! I have a video of Atlas competing with my daughter to make as much noise as possible while she played her violin. It's funny what these guys will respond to.

Yes it is, lol. They are so cute. My Grey Buddy has gotten to the point that he will respond to anything loud enough to be heard across the house. He sings to my phone, the front door when someone arrives, and my daughters toys, lol. I love Grey's so much! They have so much personality!
That is awesome Rose, I really love greys too. Packed with personality.
LOL Jay! That is why I'm happy to only have one male that calls. I do not think I'd want more than one. I love them, but still need sleep. If I don't get used to my new retf soon, they will be relocated to a room other than my bedroom.

Lol, I love frogs. They are so cute. And my baby toad is now singing along with they Grey Tree Frogs when they get going. It took me a little while to figure out who and where it was coming from, lol. But once I did I was thrilled to find out that my baby toad is a BOY! I want to post a video of them Grey males and Baby Bunta singing together, it is so cute. But I first I will have to find out how to post a video on here, lol. :P
I upload mine to YouTube and then paste in the link using the URL.

That's a heck of an idea! I have a YouTube account and have never posted a video to it, so now I have a reason to do so, lmao. Thanks!
You're welcome

Oh my gosh! This is awesome! I'm a brand new frog owner and have grays. I've raised them from tadpoles and they're still tiny as ever. How long until my guys should start making sounds like that? I love seeing posts like this! Makes me excited for what's to come for me and my guys.
I got him as a very skinny and sick little guy in August of last year, he started making some noises around Jan or Feb and started calling loudly and regularly this past spring. I'm not sure when he would have morphed to give an exact age of when the calling started.

Aww, you guys are going to love raising your baby Greys. I have a couple of babies I am waiting to grow up too. But I love them the way they are right now, so tiny and cute! I will have to get pics of them up too. They are all morphed at different times, as a matter of fact one will be morphing in a couple of days now, and my oldest baby is about 2 months in to frog hood, lol. Now I don't know for sure when they will start to call, but from my yearlings I have raised, they did not call until they were nearly 2 years old. But that's just mine and they were wild caught. If J sees this maybe she will answer. She has babies that she raised and started calling recently. Good luck with your little ones!
Thanks MsBlueRose! This is an entirely new experience for me and I'm learning something every day. I love it though!
Hi, with the 5 they were about 1.5cm to 2cm max when I got them (I don't know how old they were) However it really wasnt very long before the first one started to vocalise only a month or so and it wasn't necessarily the largest one who started to call first! Their first sounds were the quietest sort of cheep or squeet, more birdlike than frog like but don't be fooled they just want to lull you into false security it does not take long before they learn the full call which they then practice frequently! A couple of ours (for those who dont know I probably have 7 Im still not certain of one who I hardly dare hope to be a girl!) can even be heard above the noise of the hoover which they always try to compeat with lol On the other hand one of the others still does more of a tweety-trill if that makes any sense? I do so love my boys they never cease to astonish and amuse. I wanted to split the group into two tanks but they are bonding into such a wonderful group Im not at all certain that the stress of splitting them up wouldn't be worse than keeping them together! I would think once they are fully grown i will have to house them in smaller groups but at the moment I am just keeping a watchful eye on them as the slowest growers decide how big they will grow. 3 of them are still no bigger than 2.5cm and they make as much noise as the older boys who must be a good 3 or even 3.5cm and are about 9 months older. I am wondering whether mine called so young because they could hear the older ones calling!
