Default Found this beauty at a local nursery

Thought I would share these pics finally. I spotted this little beauty about 3 weeks ago at a nursery just chilling in a bird bath.

Look at that awesome pattern!! She is gorgeous! Just as fat as my piggy girls too, never seen one quite that healthy looking outside around my house.

I was soooo close to bringing her home and keeping her lol, but she seemed so happy in the green house

They are not native to my area (i don't think). that is the only reason I would have taken her. The winters up here are rough and she may not make it on her own.

She is native by you. I'm even further north and regularly find and hear them around my yard. Their bodies can withstand a complete freeze. It's pretty amazing. All my greys were wc locally, none by me personally, but wc nonetheless.

Eta. My kids just found a baby the other day and begged Mr to keep him. It was hard to resist, he was way too skinny and I wanted to fatten him up. I cannot fit another grey into my tank though, so I made them let him go.

Beautiful little Grey! She looks like my Buddy. I so hope my little tads turn out to be greys!? I will find out in about a week, my first one will be morphing them! I can't believe you found her just chillin' in a bird bath, lol. She is so pretty!

Illinois is within their range as they extend well into Canada and as west as Manitoba. I know much of the emphasis in frog husbandry is aimed at more exotic species, but we have quite a few gems native to North America. You might check out some of your other local frogs- IL Herpetology Species List | Illinois Natural History Survey | Illinois .
